AI Filmmaking Weekend Intensive
This is a two-day, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to create a short film using generative AI tools. Whether you’re a filmmaker, creative technologist, artist, or just curious about AI’s potential, you’ll leave with real skills and a finished project.
Led by Elizabeth Strickler, educator and media innovation strategist at Georgia State University, and supported by a small team of creative professionals, this intensive gives you the tools and guidance to explore a new kind of storytelling.
What You’ll Learn
- Story development using AI writing tools
- Image and video generation (text-to-image, image-to-video)
- Editing and assembling your film
- AI music and sound design
- Ethical and creative considerations when using AI in storytelling
What You Can Create
This intensive is flexible — your final film is up to you. You can create:
- A music video
- A short animation
- A live-action-style narrative
...or blend styles to experiment with form and mood.
We’ll show you the tools, so you can choose the story and style that excites you most.

Both sessions run 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Coffee, snacks, and lunch will be provided.
