Horizon worlds

What is the URL of the tool/platform/hardware you are presenting?

Describe the primary function and technical capabilities of the tool. How does it contribute to building the Metaverse?

It uses a VR headset and allows you to communicate socially with other users creating your own worlds and events in the metaverse.

What are the technical requirements to use this tool (e.g., hardware specifications, operating system compatibility)?

Meta Quest, Quest 2 and 3, Oculus rift S

Provide examples or case studies of how this tool has been applied in real-world scenarios. How does it solve specific problems or enhance projects in VR, AR, or the metaverse?

It allows creators to build their own worlds and if used by enough people will allow the creator to make money off it along with their work being protected in the metaverse.

Is the tool open-source or proprietary? Discuss the implications of its software model on development and collaboration.

It is open source which allows users to work together in the metaverse and use their creativity to build their own ideas.

What is the business model of this tool and what are the implications? (ie freemium, subscription, one-time cost). Who do you think their target market or demographic is?

There is no cost for the game but you will have to purchase a VR headset to be able to play it. Their target market is mainly adults but are looking to attract more young adults and teens.

Compare and contrast this tool with at least two similar tools or platforms. What are its strengths and weaknesses relative to its competitors?

Compared to VR chat it gives users the ability to make money off their creations and protect them whilst VR chat users are easily able to copy your creations. HW is not on the level of games such as Fortnite who offer more platforms such as console, PC, and mobile which expands their target significantly more compared to HW only on VR.

Based on current trends and developments, where do you see this tool heading in the future? Consider upcoming features, potential use cases, or evolving technologies.

I see HW moving over to mobile to give the younger audience a chance to play but I don't see it making a huge difference and will be similar to the game SIMS. The game feels more catered towards adults and has a business side to it , which can be helpful but they need more of a kid friendly mode that will spark interest to widen their target market.

What was your experience in using the tool?

I was not able to use it due to problems with the meta quest 2.
